Mitropacup: Switzerland Leads Women’s Section – Tight Race in the Open

The Mitropa Cup in Trenčín, Slovakia, is entering its decisive phase. After seven rounds, the host nation Slovakia and Germany are tied for the lead in the open section, each with 10 points. Close behind are the Czech Republic (9 points) and Hungary (8 points).

In the women’s section, Switzerland appears almost unstoppable. Milan Novkovic’s team has only conceded a single draw against the Hungarian side and leads with 13 points, ahead of France (11). Hungary sits in third place with 10 points. Furthermore, Switzerland has a favorable pairing for the final two rounds, facing Croatia and Slovenia—two teams currently at the bottom of the table.
